More than half of Ukrainians opposed the legalization of casinos

The Rating research group conducted a survey among Ukrainians on the issue of casino legalization. It turned out that more than half of the citizens oppose the initiative to legalize gambling in the country.
58% of respondents were categorically against the legalization of gambling. Slightly more than a quarter (27%) agree with the idea of legalizing gambling, but on the condition that they are concentrated only in specially designated areas. Only 11% of participants supported the law. The number of survey participants is not disclosed.
It also turned out that of all types of gambling entertainment, lotteries are the most trusted among Ukrainians, and slot machines are considered the most unacceptable. Ukrainians are also skeptical about the idea of legalizingonline casinos.
Nine bills on gambling are currently under discussion in the Verkhovna Rada. They stipulate the rules for the legalization of land-based and online casinos. Presumably, a license for gambling activities in Ukrainewill cost no less than a million dollars, but the cost may increase during the auction. Terms of consideration of bills are not disclosed yet.
