New Jersey Gambling Revenue Hits All-Time High

New Jersey Gambling Enforcement Enforcement (DGE) released your latest report. It says the entertainment industry posted strong results in 2022.
On Tuesday, the state's gambling regulator released results for December and all of 2022. The total entertainment revenue of casinos, racetracks and their partners in December 2022 was $454.8 million. Compared to the same period in 2021 ($404.1 million), there is an increase of 50.7 million or 12.5%.
The breakdown provided by the DGE shows that December's result increased significantly on the back of sports betting revenue. In general, revenue in this sector last month reached $87.7 million. This is 48.5% or $28.7 million more than in December 2021, when the result was 59 million.
Online entertainment operators were also noted, which made a significant contribution to the result in December. Online gaming revenue increased 13.7% to $151.5 million. Breaking down this total, P2P revenue was down 7.1% to 2.2M. At the same time, other games were up 14.1% to 149.3M.
Last report DGE showed that the casino profit for December 2022 reached $215.6 million, showing an increase of 1.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
For the entire year of 2022, $1.66 billion in online gaming revenue was reported. This is 21.6% more than in the previous period. The total revenue from casinos in New Jersey was 2.79 billion, which in turn is 9% more than in the previous period.
The gambling regulator also released data on the performance of the industry in New Jersey. The total entertainment revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, bookmakers and online gaming operators was $5.21 billion in 2022. This result is a 10% increase compared to 4.74 billion in 2021.
