Income of the gambling sector of Ukraine can grow 3 times in the first year of operation

The Gambling Industry Association (BGC) sent an official appeal to the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In it, the body calls on parliamentarians to adopt amendments to the draft law on regulating the work of the country's gambling sector as soon as possible.
In particular, the document contains information according to which amendments to the law will become a catalyst for launching the process of attracting gambling services to the local market major international operators.
The authors of the initiative are confident that the proposed items will strengthen the fight against illegal gambling, protecting consumers from poor quality services. And this, in turn, will ensure the receipt of taxes directly to the state budget.
In parallel with this, the BGC noted that the current law on the legalization of gambling in Ukraine has set an unreasonably high amount of fees for obtaining a license, so many companies have so far do not intend to cooperate with the local regulator.
The official statement states that the proposed changes to the Tax Code in terms of license fees and tax deductions, which are based on the exemption of operators from paying taxes in the starting two years of operation, will allow generating about 36 million euros to the state budget just for the first of them.
In addition, the absence of penalties from companies for the triple license fee and the operator’s gross income of 10%, which are proposed by the Association, will send additional 96 million euros in revenue. Thus, according to BGC analysts, these initiatives will make it possible to triple the income of the gambling sector of Ukraine in a year.
