The representative of the Ukrainian gambling regulator Yevhen Hetman answered a number of topical questions in an interview to the Ukraine 24 TV channel regulation of the sphere of gambling entertainment. In particular, he noted a historic event for the Ukrainian jurisdiction — the decision by the Commission to issue the first official license to open an online casino to Spaceics LLC, which owns the well-known trademark Kosmolot. However, according to Eugene, the licensee will be able to start its activities only after it pays the appropriate tax to the state treasury.

Further on, the expert touched upon the issue of controlling the non-admission to gambling of persons who are prohibited by law from participating in such activities. Thus, he confirmed the presence in the current gambling legislation of Ukraine of a provision on the introduction of a player identification card. This rule applies both to land-based casinos and slot machine halls, as well as to online gambling. Evgeny Getman said that control over the implementation of this procedure on the Internet will fall on the shoulders of the sites of operators that will work in this legal field.

To the question of how the sphere of gambling advertising will be regulated, the functionary replied, that the Department of Supervision and Control has been created under the regulator, in which the corresponding division will work, performing these functions.

The representative of the supervisory authority paid special attention to the topic of the cost of licenses for various types of gambling business. According to him, an annual license for an online casino will cost the organizers 6,500 minimum wages, or UAH 23.4 million. However, these figures, according to Hetman, are based on the fact that until the introduction of an online monitoring system for the activities of such sites, the law provides for a triple license fee.

As for casinos located in hotels and separate premises, then the price of a license for a year will cost such objects UAH 72 million or 60,000 minimum wages (UAH 360 million) for 5 years.
