Google Announces New Gambling Ad Blocking Feature

IT industry giant Google will soon be adding a new feature to its ad settings. The update will allow users to control the amount of gambling ads they use when using the company's products.

The corporation's press office stated that the activation process for this feature was launched only after receiving feedback from users who stated that they would prefer to limit ads in certain "sensitive" topics. In addition to gambling, it will also be possible to reduce the amount of alcohol advertising.

Disabling annoying ad windows completely is another Google feature. It allows you to block ads in a specific category. However, users can change their mind if they change their mind.

In a statement on Google's website, the company said the new feature "is an additional step that gives users even more control over their advertising preferences."

Рассматриваемый функционал будет постепенно распространяться. Сначала его официально внедрят в США, однако уже в начале следующего года компания рассчитывает представить его для Google Ads и YouTube по всему миру.

“We will continue to improve our own controls. As our products evolve and user expectations evolve, so will the features we make available for ad personalization,” the developers added in their official release.

It is worth noting that this fall, the Italian National Communications Authority launched a review Google advertising campaigns, accusing the corporation of violating government rules for advertising gambling services.
