Head of the Ukrainian Gambling Association Anton Kuchukhidze in one of his last speeches said that the country's parliament agreed to consider a number of bills designed to eliminate existing conflicts. Most of them are related to the scheme for electing members to the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (CRAIL).

The main task of the deputies of the ninth convocation, who voted for the legalization of the gambling business last year, was the adoption of a relevant document. However, legally, the ratification process, according to the expert, consists of three stages: legalization, the introduction of the necessary package of amendments and the launch of the relevant legislative framework. Now, according to Kuchukhidze, Ukraine is at the second stage.

The most important amendment to the special law regulating the sphere of gambling entertainment in Ukraine is draft law 5207-1, authored by MP Andriy Motovilovets. In it, he proposes to streamline the structure for the selection and appointment of members of CRAIL, adjusting this process to legal requirements.

According to Anton Kuchukhidze, the initiative 5207-1 of MP Motovilovets differs from the previously proposed amendments in its clear presentation of the stages and nuances that will ensure efficiency. In particular, the author proposes to appoint to the Commission of the regulator people who have passed a special competition for compliance with the positions of the civil service corps. At the same time, the creation of the competition Commission remains in the power of the Cabinet of Ministers. The deputies will not be able to influence this process due to the lack of the necessary powers.

The functionary is sure that with the adoption of this bill, the possibilities to influence the work of CRAIL from the outside will be reduced to a minimum. In addition, this will also affect the work of the media, which often scold the regulator for inefficient activities.
