Due to the coronavirus, Australian casinos lost $14.2 million daily

According to a study by Australian analysts, the gambling industry of this country during the quarantine associated with the pandemic coronavirus infection, suffered a daily loss of 14.2 million dollars.
In this indicator, Australia ranked fifth in the world. The US state of Nevada, unsurprisingly, topped the list, where the gambling industry was losing a record $46.2 million every day.
The study covered fifty-eight of the world's top casino revenue destinations. As a result, it was calculated that, on average, twenty Australian casinos lost $7,152 in total every 60 seconds.
The second and third places in the list were occupied by Japanese pachinko parlors (their daily losses reached $30.7 million) and the Singapore casino chain ($27.5 million), respectively.
It is worth noting, however, that that the Australian gambling industry is gradually coming out of a steep dive. This is also evidenced by statistics: residents who are in isolation continue to play in online casinos. So, in June, they spent 62.7% more on slots than in the same period last year.
Monash University representative Charles Livingston, who analyzes the gambling industry in Australia, admitted that some types of entertainment did show growth profitability, despite global restrictions. First of all, according to him, this affected online casinos.
Recall that the loss of the newly formed gambling industry giant Caesars Entertainment Inc. for the first half of 2020$1.17 billion.
