Casinos in Las Vegas open after coronavirus
Casinos in Las Vegas will open for the first time since the announcement of the quarantine. The establishments will begin to receive visitors on the fourth of June. Sin City Hotel & Casino plans to open first, scheduled to open at 12:01 pm. The iconic Bellagio Fountain will then reopen.
Wynn Resorts has pushed back its scheduled reopening to daylight hours, citing ongoing nighttime protests sparked by the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.
Major casino operators, 679MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment will not reopen all of their locations immediately. The management has stated that they want to look at the capacity of the casino after opening.
Safety measures will be followed at the casino: slot machines will be disinfected, masks will be issued to visitors, non-contact temperature measurements will be taken before entering. To maintain social distancing, the number of players at the tables will be limited.
Local residents are expected to arrive at the newly opened casinos first, followed by motorists from neighboring states. Guests from all over the US will be the last to fly into Las Vegas.
Nevada Gov. Siv Sisolaks issued an emergency order to close all non-essential businesses, including casinos, in mid-March to prevent the spread of the Covid virus -19.
