UK casinos are back on lockdown

UK land-based casinos have been forced to shut down again. The country's government has issued a new decree that further restricts movement due to the massive spread of a new type of Covid-19.
The number of reported cases of the virus has increased significantly over the past month, so Prime Minister Boris Johnson decided to introduce a third package strict measures to block most social contacts. These restrictions directly apply to the sphere of gambling entertainment. All bingo halls, betting shops and casinos will be closed until at least mid-February.
According to the new regulation, citizens are prohibited from leaving their homes, except for emergencies and tasks that cannot be fully performed from home.
It is important to note that this is the third blocking of British casinos. The first restrictions were introduced in March 2020, and the second package of restrictive measures was adopted in November.
A separate veto was imposed on December 16 last year on the work of gambling establishments in London. It was from this date that Greater London, some regions of Essex and Hertfordshire moved to the highest level of restrictions due to a very high increase in the incidence of coronavirus.
Hippodrome CEO Simon Thomas noted that the introduction of new bans on the gambling industry Great Britain will have a negative impact on the industry, as well as a significant blow to the state treasury.
