At a meeting of deputies of Primorsky Territory on December 18, Vice Governor Konstantin Shestakov announced that all local gambling establishments had extended their preferential rate taxation by the end of the current year. At the same time, according to the official, the region’s treasury will receive less than 7.3 million rubles, but casinos will be able to survive the difficult period of quarantine restrictions and not reduce staff.

“We have been closely monitoring the situation even before the onset of autumn. After analyzing all the indicators, it was decided to reduce the rate from July to October inclusive. But in fact, today the situation has remained unchanged. In this regard, we have again set the minimum amount of tax deductions for November and December of this year. According to our data, this will allow operators to pay the wages of 1,700 employees in full. In addition, the organizers of gambling entertainment in the region need funds to pay off debts to suppliers and contractors. It is also worth noting that Shambhala, which recently opened the doors of its new casino, has not yet paid its contractors. Our measures to support this business will allow companies to alleviate the financial burden, and investors to feel secure and confident in the future,” said Konstantin Shestakov during his speech to the deputies.

It is important to emphasize that initially the local authorities planned to introduce a reduced tax for Primorye casinos for four months - from July to October. But due to the worsening situation with the volume of tourist traffic and the introduction of additional restrictive measures in a number of regions, it was decided to extend this period.

Shestakov noted that residents of Primorye this year attracted about 600 million rubles in the form of investments, and also did not cut staff, despite serious difficulties.
