Londoner Macao Casino due to open in September

Sands China President Wilfred Wong has assured the public that construction of the Londoner Macao continues despite the coronavirus outbreak. The $1.35 billion project is to transform Sands Cotai Central into Londoner Macao, a British themed resort. The work is scheduled to be completed by September 2020.

Wong said the global lockdown worked in the project's favor. During the quarantine, construction was not suspended, but the flow of tourists decreased significantly. This made it possible to speed up the work.

The re-opening of the facility will take place in two stages - in 2020 and 2021. Most of the construction work has been completed. Some details remain, for example, it is planned to erect a copy of Big Ben.

The entertainment complex will have a 6000-seat arena, street shows will be held, and new restaurants are planned to be opened. One of them will be managed by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. 450 tables and 2,000 slot machines will be installed on the floors. The total capacity of the resort's four hotels is 6,000 rooms.

September remains a provisional date. The borders are closed, and there is no specific plan to lift the restrictions yet. According to Wong, everything depends on the number of visitors, the exact date will depend on the decision of the government to open the borders.
