Online casinos in Belgium are required to return money to customers

The Belgian Gaming Commission (BGC) has set a weekly limit on online casino losses. Now gamblers from Belgium cannot lose more than 500 euros per week in online gambling. The changes are associated with a sharp increase in the popularity of online casinos amid self-isolation of citizens due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. Thus, the regulator is trying to protect the Belgians from large financial losses.

The rule has become mandatory for all sites with a BGC license. The commission asked gamblers to remain vigilant and inform the organization about situations in which operators do not comply with the new requirements. It is reported that in this case the casino will be fined and obliged to return to the player the funds spent in excess of the stated limit.

The representatives of the Belgian Gaming Commission also reminded gambling fans that they have the right to further limit their own spending on bets by setting limits on the casino website themselves.
