For transferring money to illegal online casinos will begin to be heavily fined

The State Duma of the Russian Federation has received for consideration a draft law providing for the imposition of administrative fines on mobile operators, payment systems and financial institutions for transferring money to gambling businesses banned in the country - online casinos and lottery organizers. The initiators of the document are Alexander Khinshtein and Sergey Zhigarev.
According to the resolution, in case of violation of the legislation in force in Russia in the field of regulation of the gambling business in the vector of making money transfers to illegal operators of gambling and lotteries, it is envisaged that penalties will be applied to violators . The size of the penalties is clearly spelled out.
So, for officials, the fine will be from 100,000 to 500,000 rubles. As for legal entities, companies are forced to pay to the treasury from 25% to 40% of the total amount of the transaction for such a circumvention of the law. However, the fine cannot be less than 5 million rubles. If a violation of the law affects a credit organization, then the amount of the penalty is similar to the procedure for officials.
It is noted that the government of the state positively assessed such a project. It is ready to accept it with some modifications.
It is important to recall that the Federal Tax Service (FTS) has its own register of gambling organizations banned in the Russian Federation. In 2018, a law came into force in the country prohibiting cross-border money transfers in favor of such companies, whose activities have been officially banned since 2007 (except for legal betting shops and sweepstakes).
Previously, Alexander Khinshtein and Sergey Zhigarev became the authors another initiative. In April of this year, the State Duma adopted this document. Its provisions allow the Federal Tax Service to block websites that carry out transactions in favor of prohibited gambling operators out of court.
