The Commission on Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries of Ukraine (CRAIL) announced on April 15 about receipt in the state budget of the next funds from the sale of gambling licenses. The Ukrainian treasury was replenished by a total amount of 32.4 million hryvnia. Two companies paid for their permits, having received licenses to organize an online casino and a slot machine hall within the local jurisdiction.

The Lord Gambling Club LLC became the first full licensee. The operator will start its work on the gambling market of Ukraine in the capital of the country on the basis of the large Lybid hotel complex. Here, the organization will place a complex of slot machines in a converted room. For this right, the brand paid 9 million hryvnias, which are prescribed in the current relevant legislation.

The second owner of the license is the organization LLC "Conqueror". It is she who is listed as the official owner of the Vulkan Casino trademark, well-known in the CIS. For the right to open an online casino in Ukraine under this brand, the licensee sent UAH 23.4 million to the budget as required by law.

It is important to note that at the moment all holders of gambling licenses in Ukraine, including land-based casinos, online platforms, betting shops and slot machine halls, have paid a total of UAH 324 million.

Earlier, official representatives of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries of Ukraine and deputies of the Cabinet of Ministers stated that for the whole of 2021, the government intends to earn UAH 7,443,000,000 from the sale of licenses to gambling operators, including lotteries, and those wishing to enter the local gambling market (more than 260 million US dollars).

The authorities also claimed that they wanted to spend these funds on social needs. In particular, for projects in the field of education, science, medicine, sports and support for vulnerable segments of the population.
