The sale of licenses to gambling operators in 2021 will be able to send about 7 .5 billion UAH. This information was confirmed by the representative of the Financial Committee of the Verkhovna Rada Daniil Getmantsev.

“The state budget of Ukraine for 2021 provides for an inflow of funds from the legalization of the gambling business. The state will receive the lion's share of this money from the sale of licenses to operators who are already ready to enter our market. The final negotiations between them and the Ukrainian authorities are now being completed. Permits for lottery players will also contribute their share,” the official said.

The parliamentarian is also sure that the proceeds from the launch of the gambling business will be able to close some holes in the Pension Fund. At the moment, Ukraine's PF deficit is at least UAH 18 billion. Accordingly, according to Getmantsev, the money from the sale of licenses to gambling operators will cover about a third of the missing funds.

Earlier, there was information about the interaction of the Gaming Industry Association (BGC) with the Ukrainian authorities on the issue of increasing income from the gambling business. Thus, according to preliminary estimates of the organization, this figure can be tripled if the amendments proposed by analysts to the current law on gambling are adopted.

BGC experts are also sure that the price of Ukrainian licenses for operators is unreasonably high. This circumstance is the reason why some large international companies refuse to enter the gambling market of Ukraine, as a result of which the state budget may lose several billion hryvnias.
