The first official gambling license of Ukraine cost 23 million hryvnias

The State Treasury of Ukraine confirmed the information that a fee of 23 4 million hryvnia, which was paid by Spaceix LLC for obtaining the first license in the history of the country's legal gambling market.
This event was commented by the head of the Commission for Regulation of Gaming and Lotteries of Ukraine Ivan Rudy. On his official page on the social network Facebook, the functionary said: “This historic event for our state has come true. Just six days ago, the regulator approved the issuance of the first license. Already today we can state the fact that the State Treasury received payment for this document, which amounted to UAH 23.4 million.”

However, this amount, as stated, was less than planned. Previously, it was assumed that Spaceics LLC, which owns the rights to the Kosmolot trademark, will pay 39 million in Ukrainian currency for obtaining a license to conduct gambling business on the Internet. This cost fully complied with the transitional provisions of the law on gambling adopted by President Volodymyr Zelensky last August.
According to the current gambling legislation of Ukraine, a licensee who wishes to launch an online casino within Ukrainian jurisdiction must pay for a five-year resolution of 6,500 minimum wages.
Thus, from January 1 of this year, the minimum wage in Ukraine amounted to 6,000 hryvnias. By simple calculations, it is clear that Spaceics LLC had to pay 39 million hryvnias to the treasury. However, the actual amount was 15.6 million less. Experts explain this situation by the fact that the parties agreed to conclude a partnership before January 1, 2021, when the minimum wage was lower.
Recall that Ukraine intends tostrictly control gambling license.
