One of the most important representatives of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries of Ukraine (CRAIL) Boris Baum reported that in the near future the Ministry of Justice will approve a list of equipment that is subject to certification by representatives of the gambling business. He spoke about this on April 2 at a round table discussing the current situation in the local gambling market.

In the course of his speech, Baum stated: “There is a slight error in determining the timing. There is only one reason for the delay - the approval of the list of gambling equipment for certification is taking a long time. But with the support of representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov and Deputy of the Finance Committee Sergei Marchenko, we still managed to move the approval of this issue. I am very grateful to these people for their understanding and help. Now the agreed list is on the table of the Commission of the Ministry of Justice. Perhaps it will be registered today or tomorrow.”

The functionary also added that after all the legal nuances, the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries will publish a register of certification subjects on its official website. Not only a specific operator, but also each interested party will be able to get acquainted with it.

“I strongly believe that already next week, somewhere on Wednesday, the regulator will start the process of accepting applications from licensed operators for equipment certification. This procedure requires separate permits,” the expert added.

Baum expressed the hope that in early May all the conditions for obtaining licenses established by the new gambling legislation will be accepted by interested operators, which will maximize the path for a full-fledged launch of the gambling business in Ukraine.

Earlier, Minister Oleg Nemchinov announced his desire to join the Ukrainian gambling market of a number of large foreign companies, including industry leaders.
