All casinos have been completely closed in Italy

Strict restrictive measures have been reintroduced in the country due to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus by the decree of Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte. According to the signed order, all casinos and slot machine halls are subject to closure.

ANSA reports that the restrictions will be in effect from October 26 to November 24. This is only an indicative period, which may subsequently be increased against the background of the situation with the spread of the infection.

Some gambling operators have already applied to the authorities with a demand to compensate them for the losses that companies will incur due to the complete closure of land-based clubs. However, this issue has not yet been considered by the Cabinet of Ministers.

It was previously reported that the revenue of the Italian gambling industry in September rose to 184 million euros. The growth leader was the online casino segment — its revenues grew by 25.4%.

Recall that in Italyan investigation into gambling ads in Google was launched.
