Online casino operator VBet announced its entry into the gambling market of Ukraine
Online casino and sports betting brand BetConstruct VBet received approval from the Gambling Regulatory Commission and lotteries of Ukraine in obtaining a local gambling license. The company called this event “a great honor and privilege.”
The operator said that immediately after the legalization of the gambling business in Ukraine in August last year by President Vladimir Zelensky, he launched the process of forming and applying for a permit to work in this jurisdiction. The group's efforts have resulted in VBet becoming the first licensed online poker operator in the country.
“Our team sees great potential in the Ukrainian market and is happy to provide its customers with completely legal and high-quality entertainment solutions. VBet is always committed to supporting responsible gambling, developing local sports, following the highest standards of business ethics, and infusing the market with drive, creativity and passion,” said Vigen Badalyan, CEO and Founder of BetConstruct.
VBet says its entry into the regulated Ukrainian market is a "major strategic step" towards expanding its presence in a number of globally regulated markets. In Ukraine, VBet will operate under the .ua domain.
Seda Mkhitaryan, Head of Licensing and Certification at VBet, said: “It is a great honor and privilege for me to receive the approval of the Ukrainian Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries to launch this state of the online casino platform and online poker. This is an important event for us, especially in difficult times. It was a long and difficult journey, but even the sky is not the limit for our team.”
On July 14, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine legalized gambling in the country, which was regarded by the top leadership as a “historic event”. This type of activity has been banned at the legislative level for almost ten years (since 2009).
