UK Sports Betting and Gaming Board Calls for Casinos to Open in July

Sports Betting and Gaming Board Calls for UK Government Ministers to Open Casinos in July making sure it's safe. Last week, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced new measures to ease restrictions. From July 4, pubs, restaurants, cinemas and theaters will open, but casinos will remain closed. Bookmakers in England resumed their work on June 15, and lottery halls were given the green light to serve customers from July.
The industry standards body has said that 120 UK casinos have implemented strict health and safety measures. Gambling establishments are ready to reopen their doors, providing the necessary sanitization measures. Customers will only be able to play at one table, sanitizing their hands before and after the game.
BCG CEO Michael Duger said: “We are disappointed with the government's decision not to allow casinos to reopen on July 4th. I urge ministers to reconsider the measures and allow gambling establishments to continue operating safely later in July. At a time of great economic uncertainty, the contribution of casinos to the country's budget cannot be underestimated."
Previouslyit was expected that UK casinos should reopen on July 4 as part of the the third stage to ease restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
